Sandra Martinous Obituary

Sandra Kay Martinous, aged 77, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Friday, December 29th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.   Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on May 6th, 1946, to John and Agnes Padilla, Sandra was widely recognized for her gentle demeanor, humility, and selflessness. A devout Catholic, she actively participated in bible study with fellow Catholic single ladies, served as a Eucharistic Minister and dedicated 15 years of her life to St. Boniface Catholic School. Sandra  and her husband Carl  owned a Christian Book Store, which embodying her deep commitment to her faith. Family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she poured immense love into her children and grandchildren, finding special joy in watching them grow.  Sandra enjoyed Brandon's cooking as well as sweet treats. Sandra's kindness and warmth will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her children, Carl Martinous, III and Amy of Bryant, Arkansas, and Sabrina Croom and Brandon of Barling, Arkansas, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Christian Slate, Isaiah Phillips, Ezra Phillips, Jace Croom, Alexis Martinous, and Kaylin Martinous. She is also remembered by her loving nephew,  Randy Parker, and Trina Flowers of Little Rock, Arkansas, brother-in-law David Martinous and Cynthia of Little Rock, along with their children, David S. Martinous and Missie of Little Rock, Arkansas and Clara Martinous of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl J. Martinous, II, and her brother, John Padilla and sister-in- law Jackie Parker. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5th 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at River Glenn Chapel, 1805 North A Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas. A Rosary, officiated by Deacon John Burns will follow from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The Funeral Service, officiated by Father Matt Garrison, will take place on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1301 Frank Street, Barling, Arkansas.  The burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5403 N. O Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas.  Pallbearers for the service will include Randy Parker, Brandon Croom, Isaiah Phillips, Christian Slate, Ezra Phillips, and Jace Croom.   May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort and strength.  The family would like to take this opportunity to  thank the staff at Mercy Oncology Clinic, Infusion and Hospice for all their compassionate care and support thru this difficult time.
