February 15, 1943 ~ November 26, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old
John Alfred Anderson, 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, November 26th, 2023. Born in Paris, Arkansas, to John and Clara "Reith" Anderson, John's journey was marked by devotion to family, faith, and a fulfilling career. A man of unwavering faith, John was a proud member of the Catholic community and an alumnus of St. Ann's Academy, graduating in 1961. His professional journey led him to a remarkable 32-year career at Rheem Manufacturing, where he displayed dedication and commitment until his well-deserved retirement. John had a passion for all things automotive, particularly cars and motorcycles, finding joy in attending car shows throughout his life. However, beyond his hobbies, John was first and foremost a family man, known for his role as a great provider. His legacy lives on through the cherished memories and the love he shared with his family and friends. John is survived by his daughters, Christina Anderson and Angela Landers and husband Patrick, both of Fort Smith, and his son, Johnny Anderson, of Hackett. He is also remembered by his grandchildren, Brycen Anderson of Fort Smith and Braleigh Anderson of Conway. John leaves behind a brother, Harry Anderson, and wife Cherry of Greenwood, as well as step-grandchildren, Elisha Landers and Alyssa Landers of Fort Smith. His memory is further carried by a host of extended family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Preceding John in death were his parents, John and Clara Anderson, and the mother of his children, Doris Lambert. Pallbearers honoring John's memory include Brycen Anderson, Patrick Landers, Ed Davis and Perry Standridge. Rosary Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 30th, 2023, at the River Glenn Chapel, 1805 North A Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas, the family will visit with family and friends 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, at the River Glenn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1st, 2023, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1820 North B Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas. Immediately following the funeral service a funeral procession will travel to John's final resting place will be in Paris, Arkansas, at St. Joseph Cemetery, 241-699 Kern Lane, Paris, Arkansas.
