Daniel Richard Lister, aged 87, of Hackett, Arkansas, peacefully departed to his heavenly home on January 18th, 2024. Born on March 8th, 1936, to Victor and Aurelia Lister in Inglewood, California, Daniel's life was marked by love, dedication, and various passions. He found his soulmate, Jean Milan, in Lomita, California, and they celebrated 68 years of marriage. A devoted retiree of the Arkansas State Highway Department, Daniel's life was harmonized by music, sharing melodies with siblings and recording with his beloved sister Janet. His enthusiasm for antique cars led him to engage in swap meets, flea markets, and car shows. A skilled restorer, he took pride in completing the restoration of his 1932 Coupe. Proudly associated with the "Jokers" Car Club in Lomita, California, a member of the Mansfield First Baptist Church. Survived by his loving wife Jean of the home, children Danny Lister and Lisa of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Randy Lister and Pam of Mansfield, Arkansas, Kenny Lister and Lorri of Hackett, Arkansas, and Nikki Lister of Fort Smith, Arkansas., Daniel leaves behind a deeply blessed legacy of twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His sister Janet Ingram of Texas continues to cherish his memory. Preceded in death by his parents Victor and Aurelia Lister, brother Don Lister, and sister Joan Dearborn, Daniel will be dearly missed by a multitude of family and friends. A graveside service with Pastor Mike Dugan will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hartford Memorial Cemetery in Highway 45, Hartford, Arkansas. Pallbearers include Bobby Lister, Ricky Lister, Matt Lister, Chance Lister, Colton Lister, and Mike Niblett, with honorary pallbearers Danny A. Lister, Scott Noble, and Steven Noble. May he rest in peace. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Fort Smith Regional Dialysis Center, Dr. Coleman, Jr., and Heart of Hospice. They would like to thank them for the wonderful care they bestowed upon their beloved Daniel, may he rest in peace. Services are under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
