Adam Wade Gates, age 48, from Hackett, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. He was born on January 25, 1976, to Richard and Shirley Ann Gates, he married Cheryl Dawn Crow, his beloved, on April 4, 1998, in Greenwood, Arkansas. Adam was a proud graduate of Greenwood High School, where he cherished his time playing football and remained an avid supporter of the Greenwood Bulldogs throughout his life. When not cheering for his favorite teams, the Bulldogs and the Hogs, he was often found indulging his passion for the outdoors.   Activities such as hunting, fishing, and honing his shooting skills in his self-built gun shooting berm filled his days. Adam was a skilled handyman capable of fixing anything that came his way. He adored his furry companions, Taz, Baylee, and Socks. His faith was central to his life as a member of the Cliff Terrace Assembly of God Church where he served in the Media and Sound Department. Known for his compassionate heart, Adam deeply cared for everyone he encountered. He was a devoted husband, son, uncle, brother, nephew, and son-in-law. Adam is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Gates, his mother Shirley Carter, his brothers Richard Gates Jr. and Shawn Carter, his sisters Kassi Smith and Kanethia Phillips, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Roger and Sandra Crow, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Rev. Greg and Kelly Woolf;  his nieces Mailey and Brenley Woolf and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.   He will be dearly missed by numerous friends and church family. Adam is preceded in death by his father, Richard Gates. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Greg Woolf and Rev. Brian Williams, will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at Cliff Terrace Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.   A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service at Cliff Terrace Church.   Honorary Pallbearers include John Risinger, Gregory Gates, Joey Strozier, Cody Strozier, and Tommy Gates. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Cliff Terrace Assembly of God at or mail to 3301 South 66th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas,72903.  Services under the direction of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services, 1805 North A Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
